Wednesday 11th February 2009 to Friday 20th February 2009

Still in Loughborough outside the Albion and STILL waiting for the fridge to be returned.  I must be the eternal optimist because I believe Sileby Boatyard when I phone to find out what's happening and they say they'll phone me back I BELIEVE THEM!!!! However, it's no good antagonising anyone because they'll only go slower.  Usual daily routine of walking Bill in the mornings to get the papers and again in the afternoons to Bishops Meadow Lock and then a few beers in the Swan. I haven't even taken any pics so here are a few old favs instead.

Saturday 21st February 2009 to Saturday 28th February 2009 - STILL NO FRIDGE and Getting REALLY BORED NOW!!!

Stayed in Loughborough until Monday 23rd February when Bill and I took Beau up to Barrow upon Soar and stayed there 'till Friday 27th February where we met up with a lot of other boater mates in the Soar Bridge Inn.  Came back down to Loughborough and tied up again by the Albion.  Met up with the guys from the Canal Forum, who are having a social weekend here and expecting about 20+ boats.  Good fun in the Albion on Friday evening and again on Saturday evening in the Swan.  Apart, that is, from some twat early Saturday (5am)  decided to untie the bow line of my boat and completely untie the boat behind me.  It was only Bill bouncing on my head that alerted me to the situation.  So I had to get up and secure my boat and also try and wake up the guy behind, who's boat was diagonally right across the canal, to secure his boat.  Luckily Ian, off Nb Otter, was going out to work (what at 5am - must be mad!!!) who helped tie up the other wayward boat.

Wednesday the 25th was Nicky, my granddaughter's 8th BIRTHDAY - HAPPY BIRTHDAY DARLING and Friday the 27th February was my daughter's 26th BIRTHDAY _ HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU TOO DARLING.  What a great week, with the exception of STILL NO FRIDGE  and yes you're right, they didn't call back!!!  However, there may be some good news in that it is apparently due back on Thursday 5th March - Watch this space.  Another however is that even if the fridge does come back then I still won't be able to move North cos Redhill Flood Lock is now closed until the 14th March so still stuck here in Loughborough.  Dieseled up on Friday 27th on way down from Barrow, filling all tanks and back ups, 105ltrs and also swapped over the gas bottle so I must get a replacement for the empty asap.
