Laughed through your blog great fun. We caught up with Philip on the Bolyn Castle (He of the no windlass) at the top of Hanwell flight trying to empty the lock with the top paddles open. We decided to help him through at which point his windless ended up in the cut again. Anyway we gave him another one and travelled down with him to the Wey when he went on his way quite happily (after falling in at Brentford). I admire his pluck but he made it.
We also made our epic round trip with a few adventures including going aground at Benson lock (another senior moment and day dreaming)! EA came to our rescue opened a couple of paddles on the weir and sent us on our way, another lesson learned. We had great weather for most of the time met some nice people (and dogs) and promise that next time we will not be so time pressured.
Next time you are passing Alvecote look us up, we may be there (or not)
What's happened to Trevor and Bill's blog? I'm an keen reader and am worried that nothing has been posted since March-April. Any news gratefully received. Andy
